Lena and Sarah in the Fireweed.  This grows wild all over and is so beautiful.  They say when it starts to bloom, Summer has started and when it starts to die Summer is over.

Wild Flowers

Andrew and Mark fishing in Jim Creek.  The boys have fished in some beautiful places but still no fish, but we enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Prince William Sound Cruise

Here's some pictures.  It was rainy and foggy and a little cold.  Some of the scenery didn't fotograph well due to the humidity, but here goes.  The glacier was calving in this picture, but you can only see the splash toward the right side.
Here is some of the ice we had to go through.
You don't think of Alaska as a rain forest, but PWS gets 15 FEET of rain and 20 FEET of snow each year.  Waterfalls were everywhere!
Watch out for icebergs!
We're getting our Christmas cards ready early this year!

More pictures to come.

Hiking

On Memorial Day we went on a little hike in Hatcher Pass.  We hiked a trail for 1 mile and then turned around and hiked back.  It was beautiful, many of the wild flowers were starting to bloom and the weather was wonderful, hot for Alaska, almost 80 degrees!

These are some pictures of another hike we did to Tunderbird Falls.

The kids enjoyed this tree.

Jeffrey's Baptism

Jeffrey Thomas Palmer was Baptized and Confirmed a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on May 1, 2010.  It was a very nice baptism.  Mark baptized and confirmed Jeffrey.  It was a little different not having tons of family there but our Bishop came, the Primary President and Jeffrey's Primary Teacher.  We appreciated them coming.  There was a good Spirit there.  After the baptism we went out for dinner.  It was a very nice day and one I hope Jeffrey can always remember.

Easter and such

Wow we had a pretty awesome March/April.  The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh.  Margaret lost the baby the fist week in March, the Lord taketh.  At the end of March Mark was given a job offer to work for Providence Hospitals running a Medical Clinic.  The Lord giveth.  This is truely a blessing in our lives.  Mark will be working about 1 mile from home, what a wonderful commute!!!  He will begin the new job on April 26th.  We had a really good Easter.  We did en egg hunt for the kids, in the snow.  They had a great time.  Brian and Andrew hid all the eggs but forgot where they had hidden them so they even had to search.  I think some of the eggs fell into the snow so it made for a great hunt.

Andrew and Brian had a Pinewood Derby with Cub Scouts.  They enjoyed making thier cars with Mark and had fun racing the cars.

This past week we went to Hatcher Pass.  It is a popular place for people to go snowboarding and sledding.  The kids went sledding for a while and had a great time.  Spring is coming to Alaska.  We are loving the warmer temperatures and the snow is melting.  We are excited for Summer so we can get out and explore Alaska.  There is so much to do.

Happy Birthday Jeffrey

Jeffrey turned 8 on March 29th.  He will be baptized in May.  He had a great day.  He got a bike for his birthday.  The weather has been beautiful here lately so it's been great bike riding weather.

Happy Birthday Jeffrey, we love you.

We see a lot a moose in our yard.  Here are some of the latest pictures of them.  We still get excited to see them.
